Spot on liver?

My mom has Cirrhosis (I just found out yesterday) and the Dr’s at Ohio State University Medical Center said they found a spot on her liver and they are doing a biopsy today. Does this spot mean cancer or could it be something else?

Architecture Schools?

I want to become an architect, but I’m really confused about what school I should choose once I’ve graduated from high school. I live in Canada right now, and I’ve looked at quite a few programs offered by universities here, but none of them sound very appealing or interesting… I’m thinking about studying in the U.S. but am not sure which schools would be best. Perhaps I’m thinking too far ahead, considering that I’m only in Gr 10 But I want to have a general goal, which I can work towards, and at least know something abt where I’m going. I’ve tried to find as much info as possible abt different universities, and Harvard GSD, RISD, Cooper union, maybe even Knowlton at Ohio State University. Of course going to school in the States will cost me a lot more, and some of these institutions are REALLY hard to get into so before I set my mind on something, I’d like to know more. Which schools would be the best, keeping in consideration that school is also a jumping-off point for a career?

Revoking acceptance?

My younger sister just got her 1st semester grades for her senior year in high school and she’s freaking out.

Here’s the deal. I’m a junior in college, but she still lives with our dad in New Jersey and was hoping to attend college in the midwest, near my mother and much more of our family. She won’t listen to me so maybe if you help me out she’ll listen if more people start saying things.

She got accepted at her first four choices: Purdue, Ohio State University, Michigan State University, and the University of Chicago. Her semester grades are as follows: A, A-, A, A, A, D+. She took a class (a college class - dual-enrolled) that was obviously over her head but maintained the rest of her grades.

She’s freaking out, as our our parents, that all four schools will revoke her acceptance upon seeing that horrific grade. Her GPA wasn’t affected much, she still maintained above a 3.5 (non-weighted on a 4.0 scale). Do you think any of those schools would take away her acceptance?

Recommendation Templates?

Does anyone know how letters of recommendation need to be presented on college applications, like what template? Especially if you’re sending an online application!

Is it specific for each college? If so, I’m thinking about Georgetown, George Washington, and Ohio State University. Thanks!

Are the majority of college students voting for obama?

I go to Ohio State University, which i think is like the 2nd largest university in the country (52,000 students) and the support for obama is tremendous on campus. You see students with bumper stickers, rallys, t-shirts, scriblings on side walks. Never any of that for McCain. Also i notice obama goes to alot of campuses to speak. I don’t know about McCain and his campus campaigns but i know obama has came to our campus, as well as several other campuses in ohio. I’m just wondering do you agree, because i can only speak for my campus, but it seems like most students are behind Obama.

Again, already asked but hoping for a few new responses?

It was a math class though. She’s doing fine in all of her AP courses right now (she’s taking 4) so I’m not too worried about the workload for her.
And she’s not planning on majoring in anything math related.

Need help choosing a grad school?

I’m a history major at Ohio State University, graduating next year. I have a 3.78 GPA, should be able to get good recommendations from my professors, and I will take the GRE in October (I scored rather low on my SAT, so I’m going to be doing a lot of studying).

I’m looking into getting my M.Ed or M.A.T in Secondary Education (Social Studies). So far I’m considering (in order of preference):

1. William and Mary*
2. Xavier University
3. The University of Delaware
4. The University of Akron (in my hometown)
5. Miami University (I was accepted for undergrad)

*to attend W&M I would have to push my graduation up by a quarter, since the program starts in late May.

Should I apply to all of these schools? I know a lot depends on my GRE scores. Any any first-hand information about these schools would be greatly appreciated or if you have any other suggestions, feel free to share them.
Note: Miami University is in Ohio, not Florida. It’s a common mistake.

having *** will trigger labor, myth?

today my Shape magazine came in and the “Myth of the Month”
Having *** late during pregnancy will trigger labor. A new study at Ohio State University College of Medicine found that women who were sexually active at the end of their pregnancies didn’t have their babies any sooner than those who abstained.

According to the doc in the book, the rumor got started by, ” ***** contains low levels of prostagladins, the hormones that induce labor, but the small amount exchanged during *********** doesn’t appear to initiate labor in any way.”

So ladies what do you think? I guess a baby will only come when they are ready.

NCAA/Nike Uniform Change?

Nike just announced a new line of uniforms that University of Florida, Ohio State University, University of Arizona and Syracuse University will be wearing starting this week. It’s body-fitted jerseys with longer, baggier shorts. It’s the newest overhaul since the baggy short trend the Fab Five introduced in the 90’s.
